Large Shipping Boxes
In my search for information online when it comes tolarge shipping boxes, I
found that there were quite a few people curious about where they might find these items. As with most things there
are a number of places online that you can buy them, or you can search out all of the local grocery stores,
furniture stores, and appliance stores to see if they have any boxes leftover that might fit the bill for your
item.
Many businesses that deal in large items such as heavy machinery and lathe equipment
for example need boxes that are extremely large and capable of holding vast amounts of weight. If you fit into this
category I have found a site that builds custom shipping boxes to fit the needs of even the most challenging
shipping problem. The name of their site is called Craters and Freighters.com. As you can tell by the name they
deal with the big stuff. From the looks of their site, they have more than adequate resources and talents to
pack and ship anything that you need.
Another site that I have found that takes a very personal approach to your shipping needs
is earnestpackaging.com. This is a business that has been around since the 1940's and they still hold to the
traditions that they built their company upon. For a business to survive this long they really must be doing things
right. They have design engineers who will develop the most cost effective and safe large shipping box
solutions for your business.
There are people who need large boxes for their shipping needs as well. Lots of people
list things for sale on eBay and end up having to ship the product to who knows where. This leaves just a regular
Joe with the need of finding a box big enough to ship their item. If this is you and your item is really large, you
really should go check out a furniture or an appliance store to see if they have anything to fit the bill for you.
Many times these places will have pallets as well if you need them. Most likely you will have to buy that item, but
the used boxes I am sure would be free. With a little innovation and some supplies and shipping box can be built to
house the item you need to send.
If you don't fit into either of these categories though, you might want to check the UPS
store as they have a pretty good selection of shipping boxes. I don't highly recommend them though because their
prices are pretty high. My friend went into one of their stores and wanted to ship a fender for a Harley Davidson
back to the person he bought it from because it was the wrong one. It ended up costing him about 80 bucks to send
this back with the price of the box and the peanuts and the shipping. Be wise, you can find better deals if
you look around.
My advise is to always search your local stores for boxes for shipping as most times you can get them for free, but
for the large shipping box demands like the ones mentioned above, you would do well to contact either of
those companies.
